The Omani-Saudi naval exercise “Winds of Peace 2026” began on Saturday, with joint maritime drills taking place in the Al Batinah maritime region, according to an official statement.

The Omani-Saudi naval exercise is being conducted by several vessels from the Royal Navy of Oman, with the participation of crews from the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. The drill is supported by the Royal Army of Oman and the Royal Air Force of Oman as part of coordinated defense cooperation.

The exercise includes a range of training programs and practical applications, featuring various naval operations, tactical formations, maneuvers, and specialized maritime exercises. Participating ship crews are also engaged in exchanging operational expertise and technical knowledge in line with the planned training agenda.

Officials said the joint drill is designed to enhance coordination between the two naval forces and improve their ability to operate effectively in shared maritime environments. The exercise focuses on strengthening professional competencies, operational readiness, and maritime security capabilities.

The execution of the Omani-Saudi naval exercise falls within the annual training plans of the Royal Navy of Oman, as well as joint exercise programs conducted with the navies of sisterly and friendly nations.
