Five Yemeni Nationals Arrested in Dhofar for Drug Smuggling; Asian National Also Detained
SALALAH — Omani authorities have arrested five Yemeni nationals for illegally entering Omani territorial waters in Dhofar while attempting to smuggle drugs into the country via a fishing boat. The suspects were intercepted by the Coast Guard Police of the Dhofar Governorate Police Command and are now facing legal proceedings.

In a separate operation, the Directorate of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, under the South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, apprehended an individual of Asian nationality. The suspect was found hiding crystal meth and psychotropic substance tablets inside a fishing boat with the intent to traffic and use them. Legal procedures against the individual are currently being finalized.
These arrests highlight ongoing efforts by Omani authorities to combat drug smuggling and protect the country’s borders.
