UAE Completes Withdrawal of Armed Forces from Yemen
Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed that all United Arab Emirates Armed Forces personnel have successfully returned from the Republic of Yemen, marking the completion of their operational missions in the region.
The withdrawal follows a previously announced decision to conclude the remaining counter-terrorism operations, ensuring the safety of all personnel throughout the process. The return was executed in close coordination with all relevant regional partners.
The UAE government emphasized that its military operations were conducted solely in the context of security and counter-terrorism and categorically denied any allegations that it had influenced or directed Yemeni parties to carry out military actions against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to the stability and security of the region, expressing full respect for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and national security. The ministry highlighted that the fraternal and historical ties between the UAE and Saudi Arabia remain a cornerstone for peace and stability across the Gulf region.
Since the onset of tensions in the governorates of Hadramout and Al-Mahrah, the UAE has actively worked to support de-escalation efforts, protect civilians, and promote dialogue among Yemeni factions, maintaining close coordination with Saudi authorities to prevent regional instability.
The Ministry also addressed recent reports concerning a military operation at Mukalla Port. It clarified that the vehicles involved were intended exclusively for UAE forces operating in Yemen, contained no weapons, and were not supplied to any Yemeni party. The ministry stressed that the shipment had been coordinated at a high level with Saudi authorities and expressed surprise at the targeting incident.
This withdrawal signals the UAE’s intention to step back from active military engagement in Yemen while continuing to support regional stability through diplomatic and humanitarian channels. The UAE reaffirmed its dedication to fostering peace, security, and cooperation across the Arabian Peninsula.
