Saudi Arabia Intercepts Drones and Missiles Over Riyadh

Saudi Arabia’s air defense systems successfully intercepted several drones and missiles targeting key areas across the Kingdom, including Riyadh, Al-Kharj, and parts of the Eastern Province. Officials confirmed that the attacks were neutralized before causing any major damage.

According to defense authorities, multiple aerial threats were detected during the day, prompting rapid defensive responses from the Kingdom’s missile interception systems. Several drones and missiles were destroyed in the air after being launched toward strategic locations.

One of the intercepted cruise missiles was reported near the Al-Kharj region, an important industrial zone located southeast of the capital Riyadh. Security forces also shot down drones over the Eastern Province and other nearby areas as part of coordinated defensive operations.

Earlier in the day, ballistic missiles were reportedly aimed at the Prince Sultan Air Base in the Al-Kharj governorate. Saudi air defenses responded quickly and managed to intercept the threats before they could reach their targets.

Authorities stated that the attempted strikes are part of a wider wave of attacks linked to growing tensions across the Middle East. Regional security concerns have intensified following recent military actions and retaliatory operations that have affected several countries in the Gulf region.
