Syrian Foreign Minister Congratulates Saudi Counterpart on 299th Founding Day Anniversary

RIYADH – Syria’s foreign minister, Asaad Al-Shaibani, extended his congratulations to Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the occasion of Founding Day, marking the 299th anniversary of the establishment of the First Saudi State.

During a telephone conversation on Monday, the two ministers discussed ongoing developments in Syria and the broader region, and explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation, according to official reports.

Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability and security across the region.

Founding Day, celebrated annually on February 22 since its introduction in 2022, commemorates the founding of the First Saudi State in 1727, highlighting the Kingdom’s historical legacy and achievements.

The call between the two foreign ministers reflects the continued diplomatic engagement and efforts to strengthen ties between Syria and Saudi Arabia amid regional challenges.
