Mauritanian Delegation Visits Maritime Security Centre in Muscat

A senior delegation from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania visited the Maritime Security Centre in Muscat as part of efforts to enhance cooperation in maritime affairs and security coordination.

The delegation was headed by Sheikh Ahmedou Sidi, Director General of the Mauritanian Maritime Affairs Agency. Upon arrival at the headquarters of the Maritime Security Centre, the delegation was received by the Centre’s Vice Chairman and senior officials.

During the visit, the Mauritanian delegation was briefed on the Centre’s responsibilities and operational framework in safeguarding maritime zones within the Sultanate of Oman. Officials outlined ongoing efforts to enhance navigation safety, protect marine environments, and monitor maritime traffic using advanced surveillance systems.

The delegation also toured various departments within the facility, where they were introduced to modern technologies and integrated systems employed to ensure maritime security and rapid response capabilities.

The visit reflects continued engagement between maritime authorities aimed at strengthening regional cooperation, sharing expertise, and promoting safe and secure navigation routes in international waters.
