Sarah Ferguson Charity Closure Following New Epstein Revelations

Sarah Ferguson charity closure New Epstein revelations

Sarah Ferguson’s charity, Sarah’s Trust, has announced it will close “for the foreseeable future” following new Epstein revelations highlighting her past interactions with the late convicted sex offender. The decision comes after months of internal discussion by Ferguson and the board of trustees, who expressed regret over having to suspend the charity’s work.

The closure follows the release of over three million documents by the US Department of Justice, which included emails suggesting Ferguson had communicated with Epstein while he was serving a prison sentence for soliciting sex from a minor. While her name appears in the documents, being included does not imply any wrongdoing.

Established in 2020, Sarah’s Trust focused on supporting grassroots initiatives addressing humanitarian crises, hunger, poverty, and environmental challenges. The decision to close the charity reflects the ongoing scrutiny and public attention following these disclosures.

Ferguson’s links to Epstein have already caused several organizations to sever formal ties with her. Charities that removed her as a patron or ambassador include Julia’s House, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Children’s Literacy Charity, the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals, and Prevent Breast Cancer. The British Heart Foundation also confirmed she would no longer serve as an ambassador.

The released documents show Ferguson referring to Epstein as the “brother I have always wished for” and congratulating him on the arrival of a “baby boy.” Other emails reveal Ferguson discussing her business venture, Mothers Army, with Epstein and seeking his advice on launching the company.

Epstein had been released from prison on 22 July 2009 after serving 13 months of an 18-month sentence. Emails from Ferguson in June 2009 indicate she sought guidance on starting Mothers Army while expressing gratitude for his previous support.

The latest scrutiny over Ferguson’s ties to Epstein has reignited public interest. While supporters emphasize that inclusion in the released documents does not confirm any illegal activity, the charity has decided to close to protect its ongoing work and reputation.
