ROP Declares Official Holiday for Annual Police Day

Muscat, Oman – 6 January 2026: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has officially announced that Thursday, 8 January 2026 will be observed as a holiday for its personnel working under regular office hours, in celebration of the Annual Police Day.

According to the ROP, this decision applies to staff across all units operating under the standard working-hours system, giving them the opportunity to participate in the nationwide recognition of the force’s contributions to public safety and security.

The announcement clarified that all police stations will continue to operate normally, ensuring that citizens and residents of Oman continue to receive uninterrupted services. Emergency and essential operations will remain fully functional throughout the holiday.
