Prince Faisal, Sergey Lavrov Discuss Saudi-Russian Relations and Joint Cooperation

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday to review bilateral relations and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.

According to Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry, the ministers discussed ways to expand joint initiatives and addressed a range of issues of mutual interest. The talks aimed to strengthen collaboration across political, economic, and cultural sectors.

Russia’s foreign ministry confirmed that the discussion also touched on regional matters, including the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, developments in Iran, and the situation in Yemen. Both officials emphasized the importance of maintaining an active political dialogue between Moscow and Riyadh while intensifying efforts to boost trade, investment, and humanitarian cooperation.

The ministers further discussed preparations for the upcoming 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia, which will be celebrated next week. Both sides highlighted the historical significance of the milestone and expressed commitment to continuing the longstanding partnership.
