HH Sayyid Theyazin Presents Awards to Winners of Hamat Programme
Muscat, Oman: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, presented awards to the winning teams of the national “Ideas Makers – Hamat” programme, affiliated with the Oman Investment Authority, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The ceremony was held as part of the “Together Forward” forum.
The Hamat programme is a national initiative designed to transform real-world challenges into innovative and practical technological solutions across various sectors.
Corporate Track Winners:
- First Place: Mubiin for Solutions – smart data receivers providing accurate insights into water networks.
- Second Place: Azdara – an organic product preventing chemical compounds from inhibiting seed growth.
- Third Place: Rabt – an asset tracking device addressing and analyzing operational challenges.
Governorates Track Winners:
- First Place: Al-Neim Camp – an innovative model combining terrestrial tourism with interactive experiences.
- Second Place: Wa’oub – model farms for agritourism in Musandam Governorate.
- Third Place: Dar Al-Qaydh – a project reviving agricultural and touristic identity.
Research and Universities Track Winners:
- First Place: Digital Twin – a system converting solar energy into predictive digital twins for monitoring and decision-making.
- Second Place: Sultan Qaboos University – a project using precision inspection devices operated via drones.
- Third Place: Mohammad Mahyub – a drone vehicle operating inside high-pressure pipes to navigate obstacles.
The programme, implemented in partnership with the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers, aims to strengthen Oman’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem while supporting administrative and economic decentralization across governorates.
The 2026 edition saw extensive participation, with over 1,413 teams of innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and employees competing. Teams advanced through multiple stages, including preliminary screening, training camps, and incubation. Nine top teams qualified for the “Together Forward” forum based on solution quality, scalability, and relevance to targeted needs.
A new category for employees was also introduced, encouraging innovation within institutions and linking operational expertise with implementable solutions.
Hamat’s integrated ecosystem involved partnerships with academic institutions, Oman Investment Authority companies, government units, and the wider community, ensuring that innovative projects align with actual sectoral needs and opportunities for implementation.
